Advanced Health Care Directives

Advanced Health Care Directives are often referred to as Living Wills. A Living Will allows an individual to specify certain decisions in the event that they cannot effectively communicate their wishes regarding the treatment they receive by a medical professional.

This document includes your preferences regarding whether you want life sustaining treatment if you are terminally ill or injured, whether you want food or water provided by a feeding tube or an IV if you are terminally ill or injured, who you want to be your health care proxy to make medical decisions on your behalf if you cannot communicate your wishes effectively, and many other things.
The authority granted by this document is limited in scope to the provisions in the Living Will and are only applicable in the event that you cannot effectively communicate your wishes. At Halperin Law Group we explain the different options you have regarding your health care in the event you are unable to effectively communicate your wishes to the medical professionals that are treating you.

We will then explain the importance of choosing a health care proxy that is capable of making decisions on your behalf regarding circumstances that are not outlined in the Advanced Health Care Directive.

We will work with you to explain the effects of the provisions in this document and execute it properly so that it is valid in the event you are unable to communicate your wishes regarding your medical treatment.
